As cars quickly fill up parking spaces in downtown Wapakoneta, new businesses fill up the windows. Jodie Goodwin opened Fern Hill Farmhouse today, an antique and art shop.
Goodwin's store is among at least eight new businesses to start up downtown in the last year. The Downtown Wapakoneta Partnership's success can be seen by visitors as they pass the storefronts.
This is good news for the Fern Hill Farmhouse's neighboring business, Casa Chic, which recently expanded with two new vendors.
The attraction to opening up shop in downtown may be related to a artsy theme started by an existing business. Because these existing businesses prosper as the downtown grows, owners support each other.
